Fall is fast approaching so enjoy the sunny days forecast for thies last few weeks of Summer! We are going back to our Fall schedule now and will keep it pretty much the same into November.
The schedule is posted here for your reference. NOTE: There are still FREE Swim Rec Swims scheduled on the weekends and on Wednesdays, which are short days for Toledo schools.
Also the Greater Toledo Pool Recreation District’s Board of Directors will meet on Monday evening at 6:00 p.m. in the Toledo Public Library Conference Room. The public is always welcome.
We are excited!! We have 3 new lifeguards who successfully completed the Red Cross Lifeguard certification training! Being closed last weekend for Staff training paid off! Two of the new lifeguards — Nolan Collson and Natalie Doyle — are students in the area, and should be available for weekend shifts, special events or lifeguarding at other pool rental opportunities. The third new lifeguard is a 2025 graduate from Toledo H.S. — Owen Eggert — and he will be joining our current staff as a regular lifeguard and swim lesson instructor. If you know these young people, or happen to see them when visiting the Pool, take a moment to congratulate them. We are happy to have them on our team!!
On another topic many District families are curious about…. We are working closely with the new administration at Toledo Elementary to plan Swim Lessons for the kids in Kindergarten and 1st and 2nd grades. Discussions and planning have been progressing, but there are many schedule and curriculum challenges, as well as transportation logistics and volunteer coordination, that need to be figured out and factored into the program. We will keep everyone posted. The hope is to have everything figured out within the next two months … or sooner if possible! Stay tuned!
