Greater Toledo Pool Patrons —
It was a busy Spring Break this past week!! Check out the update on the Free Rec Swims we had during the week. It was nice to see people getting together and coming to enjoy the Pool. Beside each of the dates on the flyer I show how many people we had in the water each day … it was a lot of FUN!! Remember to take advantage of the regularly scheduled FREE Rec Swim times each week – Wednesday 4:00-6:30 pm and Sunday 1:00-3:00 pm.
Things are starting to get exciting regarding the Pool Upgrade Project. The Board of Directors has been actively engaged these last several weeks with the architects Scott Edwards Architects (out of Portland), and their subcontractors assessing how to proceed. There have been thorough assessments of the current building structures surrounding the pool, and this past week we had pool engineers from Councilman-Hunsaker evaluating what it will take to upgrade or replace the existing pool. Lead engineer, Bo Ilgenfritz, and his associate did an exhaustive examination of what can be done to guide the District’s decisions in the coming months. The engineers’ report should be ready in a few weeks. We’ll keep you posted as we learn more!!
The next session of open Swim Lessons will begin the week of April 7th and run through April 30th. Registration was conducted all this past week, but there are a few openings in some of the classes. So if you’re interested in getting your child into Swim Lessons this session, please contact the Pool this coming week.
Next weekend is Easter and there are some fun things planned! The Toledo Library will be doing an Easter Egg Hunt on the lawn East of the Library on Saturday April 4th from 2:00 -3:00 p.m. (See the attached flyer.) And the Pool will be doing another FREE event that same day — April 4th — from 1:00 – 3:00 pm.We are calling it our EGG DIVE PARTY!! We will have games on the deck, an “Egg Dive” for various prizes, FREE swimming plus treats and beverages!!
Don’t miss it — it’s going to be a LOT of Fun!! Also, be aware that the Pool will be CLOSED on Easter Sunday April 5, 2026.
